Equipment Repaired & Serviced
Note : Due to difficulty obtaining replacement parts, please email us before sending in models from : Nikon Tamron Sigma Fujifilm Samyang Sony We can do some repairs on these brands, but some are not possible due to parts restraints or proprietary calibration equipment We do not work on Medium nor Large Format cameras as a rule. Please contact BEFORE sending any of those cameras. We do NOT service Video cameras, contact the manufacturer of your device, as they are specialist repairs. Cleans, Checks, Overhauls Whether you would like your equipment cleaned and checked before, or even after that big holiday or event, or if your camera is displaying an error code, we can help. We can also provide pre-purchase assessments or provide reports if you are thinking of selling some equipment. Sensor Cleans are popular repairs of course - we try to turn these around as quickly as practical. Canon DSLR Diagnostics We have computer based diagnostic equipment that connects to most popular Canon Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras ( the EOS Digital Range ) that allows us to quickly diagnose the real fault with your camera - often the common 'Error 99' is displayed, but this is a general code, and can relate to several areas, including the lenses! Our diagnostic equipment allows us to read the error codes stored in the camera, to help troubleshoot quicker and more accurately. This also allows us to read the shutter counts, and also the mirror counts for Live View models. More importantly it allows us to reset just the shutter count after shutter replacement, and perform calibrations to make sure your camera is performing at its peak. |
Lens Repairs
Lens repairs make up almost 50% of our work these days, as lenses have become far more mechanically complex. Common issues repaired are Auto Focus and Aperture faults, and of course impact ! Even the 'Kit' Canon EFS 18-55 can be repaired economically. Estimates We understand that most owners would like to know what the repair is going to cost before proceeding. We offer written estimates that can be posted or emailed to you before proceeding with the actual repair. Simply click this option on the repair form. Due to complexity of modern equipment, we cannot give 'ballpark' estimates over the phone or email, we need to have the equipment in front of us to inspect / partially dismantle to accurately assess. If you decide to go ahead with the repair, this service is at no extra cost. If you decide not to proceed, the inspection fee of $65* applies Inspection Fee After long deliberation, we have had to implement a non-refundable fee for all equipment inspected. On average it takes between 45 - 90 minutes to dismantle your equipment, diagnose the faults, find out if parts are available etc. We can no longer absorb this, so starting Feb 2018 there will be a $65* fee charged as a non refundable deposit on ALL repairs accepted. This fee goes to cover time spent, the return freight and GST. If repairs go ahead, this fee is absorbed into the normal charges, as such is not an 'extra' charge, rather a payment for those times when after the 45 -90 minutes, we find repairs are not possible due to factors such as parts availability etc. * Inspection / Declined Estimate Fee includes return freight as long as the item fits in a Number 14 box (254x203x152mm) and delivery address is Urban, not RD. Extra Courier charges may apply outside these limits. |
