Do you Repair Digital Cameras ?
That is a big YES ! In fact most of the work we do now is on digital cameras. We do try to repair the 35mm models where possible, but the world has moved very fast into digital, and unfortunately many of the 35mm models can no longer be repaired, as parts are very difficult to obtain.
What Brands do you service?
We are one of NZ's only fully independant photographic repair firms, and as such we are able to carry out unbiased repairs to ALL makes and models. With some obscure brands ( such as Cheap Chinese makes found on Online Auctions ) parts can be an issue, but for all of the well known brands in NZ, this is not a problem.
How do I get my camera to you?
See this page for details and suggestions
How long does it take?
Seasonal workload does make this vary of course, but we endeavour to provide you with a written estimate within a week of receiving the camera, and have the repair completed within 2 weeks of receiving the go-ahead from you. If parts are required, this can extend this time of course, as part supply times from third parties are out of our control.
My Camera has been wet - Is it worth looking at?
Digital cameras are full of very small circuits that can easily be effected by corrosion that develops after liquid damage, so it is important to get the camera to us ASAP as corrosion often does not start until the water dries. Salt water damage is most often not repairable, fresh water is worth inspection.
Remove the battery as the presence of battery power can cause short circuits.
Can you provide a report for an Insurance Claim?
Yes, this is another common request. We work with insurance companies to provide accurate, independant reports on damage and remedies for accident damaged cameras and equipment. In many cases the insurance company will pay for, or refund the costs of inspection and report, but please discuss this with your insurer.
How can I pay you for the repair ?
When we have completed the work, we will email or post a report to you with the total amount due and payments options, which include Bank/Internet Deposit, Cheque and Credit Card Via Paypal. Once paid, your equipment will be returned to you via courier.
